The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The role of BIW Stampings Buyer within purchasing is a high profile purchasing role within Production purchasing which requires stakeholder engagement at many levels within and the external supply base. The BIW Stampings buyer will be responsible for a high value commodity which impacts across several key functions of the business including Product Development, Supplier Technical Assistance and Manufacturing. A varied skill set is required due to the speciality of the commodity being purchased. The role requires a high level of interaction internally, as well as a continual flow of high level communication with the supply base.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Strong buying and negotiating expertise. Strong sense of business acumen and analytical skills. Experience in supplier relationship management. Project management skills. Professionally qualified with a proven track record in a purchasing or other commercial negotiating environment. Strong leadership and influencing skills. Excellent stakeholder management and relationship management skills and experience. An excellent negotiator with a proven track record of successful commercial negotiations. Able to manage and execute complex negotiations. Excellent communication skills with the ability to converse at all levels of the organisation and with external suppliers/customers. Ability to be highly organised and continually focus on attention to detail. An understanding of cost drivers throughout a manufacturing environment. An ability to react to changing market dynamics in the buyer / supplier relationships. An awareness of the total business case and end customer value relationship. Expe

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Degree desired and/or CIPS qualified. Driving Licence required. Purchasing essential, project management desirable.
