The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Chassis Purchasing - The role is within the Chassis Purchasing team. The role has strategic and transactional responsibility for the procurement of Chassis Suspensions and structural parts to support both brands with a particular focus on knuckles and control arms. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement the appropriate purchasing strategy for key commodities. Responsibility to source new products in line with the cycle plan and ensure appropriate tooling and capacity is laid down. Control expenditure and lead negotiations related to design, tooling and piece costs. Manage supplier relationships and supplier performance. Delivering annual value added savings performance targets. Work with key stakeholders to maximise purchasing influence and ensure purchasing strategy and processes are adhered to.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills - both written and oral, strong IT skills Highly driven and self-motivated individual with proactive personality and strong interpersonal skills. Confident and assertive with the ability to build strong working relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels within the business. Excellent negotiator with a proven track record of successful commercial negotiations and different sourcing techniques. Adaptable to changing circumstances, with experience of managing conflicting priorities. Ability to be highly organised and continually focus on attention to detail. Highly disciplined and tenacious to follow open issues through to closure. Proven experience as a buyer (3 years min). Demonstrate an ability to influence stakeholders. You will have an excellent track record of successful negotiation and an understanding of different sourcing techniques. Professionally qualified i.e. educated to degree or MCIPS level with a proven track record in Purchasing.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge of automotive or manufacturing processes.
