The Role:
Ensures professional standards of management are achieved and maintained.
• Maintains primary responsibility for the efficient delivery of General Services Department services.
• Directs subordinate supervisors and departmental employees activities to insure the most efficient and equitable delivery of departmental services.
• Directs and guides the provision of legal services to the company and ensures corporate compliance in all aspects of the business with Qatari laws and other applicable laws.
• Directs and guides the provision of information services to support business, financial and technical systems and applications. Provides a reporting system which assists management at all levels to perform their function in making appropriate and rapid decisions based on the best information available.
• Directs and guides the documents and standards section of the company to ensure the protection, retrievability and retention of company information assets.
• Prepares, develops, implements and reviews the department budget, ensuring all programs and activities are reasonably funded to meet operational requirements. Reviews targets set and ensure that these are met or corrective action is taken.
• Continues to develop policies, procedures and guidelines related to General Services group so that the business is effectively and efficiently managed.
• Ensures assets are correctly secured, developing and implementing programs to safeguard against losses.
• Directs the publication of a wide variety of Departmental reports, plans, instructions and procedural manuals, activity reports, analyses and statistics.
• Promote the image of the company both internally and externally.
• Manages the General Services team, providing leadership, encouraging teamwork and continuous improvement so that they take pride in the execution of their function while achieving high performance standards. Takes responsibility for the development of both National and non-National staff, in particular preparing Nationals for key positions.
• Promote competent technical liaison between the company , its partners, customers and contractors
• Recruits, motivates and develops personnel to ensure the Management Services Group is staffed with individuals of the required calibre and that there is adequate succession planning and provision for future demands.
• Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites work flow; studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
• Issues written and oral instructions; assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
• Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances; performs or assists subordinates in performing duties; adjusts errors and complaints.
• Resolves complex and sensitive customer service issues, either personally, by telephone or in writing.
• Effectively utilizes human and financial resources through the hiring, training, evaluation, and discipline of subordinates and structuring positions assignments to meet the organizations needs.
• Communicates GS related policies to departmental personnel in an accurate and timely manner.
• Ensures that departmental personnel cooperate fully with personnel from other departments on joint projects. Informs the Corporate Services Manager of departmental progress and activities and of significant contacts.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Appropriate BSc or equivalent degree from a recognized college.
• MBA from a recognized business college or university an advantage.
• Technical and commercial knowledge related to the oil and gas industry an advantage.
• At least 15 years experience working in a world class organization in the Business and Administration area at a senior level with at least five years working in an operational environment and three years a management position.
• Some exposure to SAP is an advantage.
• Familiar with working in and taking a leadership role in a multi cultural, multinational environment.
• Has strong leadership skills
• Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, a good communicator and a good listener
