The Role:
Deliver high quality data services to support the GGRE user community for the UK
Provide leadership and guidance to the Geodata Services team to ensure that the local and global data management strategies are applied by the Geodata Specialists and Geodata Analysts
Ensure data integrity and veracity through the management of the data lifecycle (both physical and electronic data)
Be accountable for the integrity of the UK Gold databases and Master Data stores
Assist in the development of the UK Upstream Service Catalogue and promote all company and regulatory data policies, processes, standards and guidelines are fully adhered to
Ensure all Geodata obligations are met with DECC and CDA
Take accountability for the management of data services contracts, including contract management plans, invoice review, and performance reviews as required
Work with the business to understand and determine their current and future data management needs and priorities
Keep aware of industry developments in data management and associated technologies with a view to continuous improvement of the delivery of Geodata Services
Serve as a UK representative for the Global Geodata Manager network and help define global strategy
Drive the integration of traditional GGRE data sources with production and drilling databases with a focus on data cascade, common data models, support processes, user interfaces and industry standards
Responsible for planning and execution of local Geodata Services projects

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Minimum of a BSc. in Geosciences, Petroleum Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent work experience
•Data management experience within an Upstream technical computing environment including GGRE applications. Landmark’s OpenWorks (R5000) and Schlumberger’s Petrel will be considerable advantage
•Strong working knowledge of the Upstream businesses with good understanding of data strategies with in depth working knowledge of data management concepts, standard, practices, tools and technologies
•Ability to plan, lead and deliver projects on time and within budget
•Strong focus on customer service and an effective communicator who can articulate clearly to all levels within the organization
•Working knowledge of process analysis and project management coupled with the ability to design and implement new processes and data strategies
•Demonstrable interpersonal skills in a team environment including problem solving, mentoring, leadership and influencing
