The Role:
• Work within a team to provide back-office support of all types of Geological, Geophysical, Reservoir Engineering and Drilling (GGRED) digital data through its lifecycle from receipt to disposal.
• Assist with the management of Upstream physical data such as core, PVT and hardcopy assets.
• UNIX/Linux disk capacity planning for geotechnical data which includes ensuring there is enough available disk space for geoscientists to use.
• Promote data responsibility and awareness within the UK OUs through issuance of standards and best practices for managing Upstream digital and physical data.
• Network closely with the Geoscientists, Geodata Lead, Geodata Analysts/Specialists and application/UNIX/Linux support to ensure the data management needs of the geoscience community are satisfied and managed pro-actively.
• Tracking & management of data supplied to and from partners and vendors, ensuring data is transmitted/received in appropriate formats.
• Design of & management of Upstream data archiving process in vendor neutral format.
• Ensure internal and UK Government regulatory compliance for data.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Required and Preferred Skills / Education/ Competencies:
• Ideally degree level geoscientist with 2 years industry experience.
• Knowledge of variety of subsurface data associated with oil field life cycle from acquisition to disposal.
• Preferably familiar with CDA/DEAL and/or DECC NHDA archive requirements.
• Knowledge of Upstream workflows and data types.
• Problem solving & troubleshooting abilities.
• Good level of competence with MS Office products including Outlook, Word & Excel.
• UNIX & Disk Management
• Team Player with excellent communication skills, self motivation and “can do” attitude.
