The Company:
Our client is a leading Global Oil and Gas Operating Company.

The Role:
We are looking to fill a Base Management Geologist position to initially support the viscous oil developments at both Greater Prudhoe Bay Orion/Polaris and also the Milne Point Schrader Bluff fields. The position may evolve into additional base management geology roles with time. The position reports to the West End Base Management team lead.

The main role of the position is to drive delivery of the stated Company Base Management agenda – “Safe and efficient production delivery from the Company proved developed reserve base” using comprehensive knowledge of the geologic framework (structure, stratigraphy, fluids, etc.)
• Provide geologic input in support of depletion plan execution.
o Confirm geologic controls on pattern behaviour
o Understand and share knowledge of reservoir characteristics and fluid contacts. Maintain fluid contact database, grids, maps, and cross sections to facilitate reservoir management decisions.
o Provide geologic input to regularly scheduled pattern or hydraulic unit reviews. Includes maintaining and updating maps of all key geologic information
• Contribute geologic background and support documentation for all wellwork interventions, rig workovers (RWO’s), injection management decisions – including pattern conversions, and Base Management team technical meetings with working interest owners (WIO’s).
• Manage geochemical sample analysis for production allocation and injection management.
• Collaborate with base mgmt RE and PEs on surveillance plans required to acquire data in support of reservoir management and state requirements.
o Drive utilization of 4D or other seismic/ geologic information to maximize pattern performance
o Coordinate acquisition and interpretation of logs and agree follow on actions.
• Provide input to Depletion Plan and assure near-term delivery of depletion strategy.
• Support Reservoir Management team static model updates by providing local area knowledge.
• Provide Base Management input into Reservoir Management team area prospect inventories/ new well hopper.
• Recommend well evaluation requirements in WID and SOR for infill drilling targets to fulfill well objectives, surveillance needs, or broader reservoir management support.
• Key interface with Reservoir Management and New Well Delivery Teams.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
 Experience: Bachelors degree in geology plus a minimum of 5 years of industry experience, or a Masters degree in geology plus a minimum of 5 years industry experience
 Sound geologic skills.
 Competent mapping skills
 Strong organizational and communication skills are imperative since you work with two teams.
 Knowledge of oil geochemistry for use in production allocation.
 Knowledge of Discovery Geographix software
