The Company:
A natural gas and oil company engaged in the exploration, exploitation, development and production of onshore natural gas and oil properties.

The Role:
Primary Objective:

Acts as a group leader or work task force leader of a small group of technical personnel. Requires the application of well-developed technical knowledge in planning, conducting and coordinating difficult assignments. Requires the modification of established guidelines and the initiation of new approaches. Makes independent decisions in planning, organizing and completing technical assignments. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment but accepted technically as accurate and feasible. Work is assigned in terms of objectives and priorities but informed guidance is available. Works with other disciplines to complement their work such as delineating reserves, developing drilling program, recommending acreage acquisition or development expansion.

Job Functions:
Completes field studies to identify infill, up-hole and field extension opportunities and recommend the optimum development drilling and completions program.
Works with the engineering department to assign risk and reserves.
Oversees the drilling of wells and support the wells through the drilling/completion phase.
Provides technical support on an as needed basis to the operation staffs as they pertain to geological and geophysical management for the properties operated by the Company. This includes log evaluation, core analysis, etc.
Prepares geological and geophysical studies as requested by management for properties managed by the Company.
Provides assistance and coordinate with the Engineering Department regarding hearing work as requested
Keeps abreast of new technology and industry development
Participates constructively in a collaborative, multi-discipline team environment and have the ability to balance conflicting priorities to accomplish company goals
Advises on technical problems and supervision, and plans, schedules and reviews work of professional geologists and technicians. Makes recommendations concerning selection, training, discipline and remuneration of staff.
Supports his/her recommendations through oral presentations, written reports, maps, cross-sections, calculations, and other support data.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Education and Experience:

Masters’ degree in Geology. Developed knowledge of oil and gas production. Developed knowledge of geological exploration techniques and geochemical sampling. Working knowledge of company accounting procedures and basic accounting practices. 8-12 years related work experience.
