The Company:
Our Client is one of the largest independent oil and gas exploration and production companies in Europe.

The Role:
Responsibilities:
Working within the Global Geophysical Technology team you will undertake projects drawing from non-seismic potential fields projects to support the company’s exploration, appraisal and production programs.
You will liaise with colleagues within the Geophysical Technology team as well as the end-user Asset G&G staff to deliver high quality results in a timely and cost-effective manner. You will work on data from a variety of geological Settings , using engineering and geophysical data.
Subsurface model QC, uncertainty estimates and limitations in the use of such models will be an important feature of your work.
You can also expect to work on high-resolution seismic to assist pre-drill hazard assessment and contribute to seismic acquisition design projects.
You will also be involved in down-hole geophysics data acquisition and processing, and ideally integrate a variety of disparate remotely sensed geophysics datasets in support of the subsurface model.
Good project management skills are important - for each project you will be expected to maintain up to date project related records and submit the final project report in a timely manner. Presentation of results to the end-user asset team, partners and management will also be required.
You will be expected to mentor junior staff members and stay abreast of relevant technology developments in the industry.

Technical: Collate data in support of scope, Scope of Work, Tender evaluation, survey design, parameter design, Monitor data quality, data management and storage, design briefs for QCs, feasibility studies, modify parameters if required, technical closeout workshop, data distribution, design and coordinate technical audit.

Ops: Coordinate planning, execution and close out, Tender documents and evaluation of technical sections, Cost reporting, invoice verification, raise requisitions, management of contractors including QCs, scope of work, weekly schedule updates, weekly and daily reporting (including schedule updates and time writing), operations meetings, file structure set up and maintained, contractor engagement meetings, coordinating EHS deliverables for project, Coordinate close out for the project You will at all times promote good Environment, Health and Safety behaviour.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
MSc / PhD degree in Geoscience / Applied Physics relevant work experience
Working experience on geophysical data from a variety of geological settings.
Familiar with a variety for approaches used to construct (and assess the suitability of) velocity models for use in subsurface imaging and will have an understanding of using borehole, VSP and non-seismic data to constrain such models.
Hands-on experience in the field using a variety of geophysics techniques including but not limited to seismic, gravity, magnetic, EM, MT – for use in both conventional as well as high-resolution exploration and engineering geophysics projects.
Strong seismic signal processing and imaging background developed the ability to clearly link the underlying theory with the field application and have a thorough appreciation of the limits and uncertainty inherent in the data.
An appreciation of the importance of EHS.
