The Company:
Is a Australian based Exploration and Production company with 6 producing assets across the globe. With considerable operating profit and the completion of a number of key developments they are entering a phase of substantial growth.

The Role:
Provide quality Geophysical interpretations in support of exploration, appraisal, development or New Ventures projects.

• Superior technical skills and some experience in all aspects of Geophysics including acquisition, processing, structural interpretation, seismic stratigraphy, attribute analysis, rock physics, non-seismic techniques and prospect generation.
• Good working knowledge and appreciation of related Geological and other disciplines including play analysis, structural geology, stratigraphy, sedimentology, petrophysics, reservoir description, reserves estimation, risk & uncertainty analysis.
• Some knowledge of reservoir engineering, formation evaluation, geology operations, economic assessment.
• Ability to work with only moderate supervision Learn fundamentals of permit management, project planning & implementation. Lead multidisciplinary projects with some assistance.
• Effectively manage geophysical data and interpretations for designated projects or basins.
• Superior communication and influencing skills. Ability to work effectively as an individual or as a team.
• At least 7 years of relevant technical experience

Position Responsibilities:
• Undertake prospect, field or regional geophysical interpretation projects.
• Achieve project deadlines and provide agreed deliverables to expected standards. Ensure all interpretations are structurally valid.
• Ensure data and interpretations are of sufficient quality to support investment and divestment decisions.
• Evaluate the validity of geophysical interpretation projects undertaken by other Operators.
• Contribute or supervise geophysical acquisition and processing projects including non-seismic surveys if applicable.
• Participate in field reserve or prospect resource estimation. Be familiar with company and industry standards and processes.
• Participate in peer reviews with geophysical component.
• Develop professional and positive working relationships with key colleagues and joint venture partners particularly for assets operated by others.
• Maintain accurate data, interpretation and model records for all significant geophysical projects.
• Research and incorporate relevant information from analogue geophysical prospects, fields or basins.
• Identify initiatives to improve technical capability and work efficiency in geophysics as an individual or for wider team.
• Participate in discussions with respect to suitable software and training for geophysicists.
• Occasionally assist with business tasks including work program and budget preparation and non-Operator project monitoring.
• Undertake other tasks as requested by Exploration Manager Existing Assets, Manager New Ventures & GM Exploration & Geoscience.
General Responsibilities:
• Perform all work in a safe manner ensuring your health and safety and that of all other employees.
• Ensure compliance with all legal, statutory and corporate affairs requirements on a timely basis.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
BSc Degree or higher in Geophysics or related discipline
Be competent or expert in geophysical interpretation and mapping software (Kingdom, Paradigm, Petrel, PetroSys, GIS). Become experienced in prospect description software (REP). Develop some knowledge of specialist geophysical software (VoxelGeo, Hampson Russel etc)
