The Role:
The Geoscience Manager position exists in a multi-disciplinary team responsible for bringing a significant deep-water discovery in Angola from appraisal into development and ultimately production. The ongoing development planning comprises comprehensive static and dynamic modeling to enable assessment and selection of optimal development scenarios and recovery mechanism(s), conceptual and detailed facilities and well and completion design. Facilitation of seamless integration between Geoscience and Reservoir Engineering is expected. The Geoscience Manager will help facilitate the finalization of a fully operable development strategy to be documented in the Field Development Plan.

During project execution, the Geoscience Manager will routinely present and defend technical work as part of internal and external peer reviews. Likewise, participation in reviews of similar projects is expected.

In addition to the recurrent field development work, screening and assessment of business opportunities is expected to take place on an ad-hoc basis. This work typically includes visits to data room, screening and analysis of available Geoscience data, impact analysis in the event of absent data and quantification of value and risks.

The Geoscience Manager will report to the Manager of the Petroleum Engineering Department comprising also Reservoir Engineering, Drilling and Commercial disciplines.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The successful candidate will:

•Enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary environment leading a significant team of Geoscientists in close collaboration with sub-surface, surface, drilling and completions engineers
•Possess 5-20 years of experience with implementation and operation of one or preferably several significant deep water field development plans, including turbidite reservoir characterization, the planning, optimisation and execution of appraisal and development wells with utmost regard to safety
•Have experience with preparation of the entire suite of Geoscience data for reservoir characterization and integrated reservoir modeling purposes (e.g. Geophysical and velocity data, petrophysical, AVO and acoustic rock property data, well log and core data, 3D seismic interpretation products and reservoir modeling)
•Drive the timely delivery of field development plans and the development design basis. Work collaboratively with sub-surface and surface engineering, and the drillin

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Applicants should have education at MSc level (as a minimum) and be in possession of a valid US work authorization. 15-20 years industry experience as an E&P Geoscientist is required.
