Large International E & P Company

The Role:
A successful Oil and Gas Company currently has a position open for an experienced Geoscience Technician in its Outside Operated / Advanced Studies subsurface team working the Eagle Ford play in South Texas. The successful candidate will be part of the Eagle Ford team that is responsible for ramping up to 10 rigs by year end 2011 and 20 rigs by year end 2012. Capital budgets for the next four years are projected to average $1.5 billion per year. Along with providing technical support to other team members other primary responsibilities will consist of: taking the lead in SPOTFIRE implementation, development and utilization, data mining and analysis of both internal and external data, management of various databases on a monthly and daily basis, and the and the creation and maintenance of internal and external presentation material. This position will report to the Outside Operated / Advanced Studies subsurface manager for the Eagle Ford Asset Team and will be located in Houston.

Data mine, gather, and analyze data from internal and external databases and sources to support geoscience and engineering efforts and evaluations.
Create a template and maintain on a monthly and quarterly basis external presentation material regarding the Eagle Ford project.
Demonstrate, develop, and implement SPOTFIRE capabilities.
Mentor less experienced personnel with SPOTFIRE applications.
Assist with the generation and compilation of team presentation materials.
Initiate and maintain consistent well files for all outside operated drill wells.
Load log data into appropriate Geographix projects. QC log data from outside vendors. Perform small digitizing and scanning jobs.
Generate maps and cross-sections from internal and external sources at the direction of geoscientists.
Maintain master databases for active Geographix projects. Synchronize with appropriate OpenWorks projects. Update production data for OBO wells in Geographix projects

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree: Undergraduate Degree Preferred, None Required
Major Discipline: Geology
Years Experience Required: Minimum 5 years total industry/relevant experience supporting multi-disciplinary teams in a technical capacity. Eagle Ford experience is a plus.
SPOTFIRE proficiency is a plus
Travel Required: Less than 5%
Computer Proficiencies: High to Intermediate PC skills is required in Microsoft desktop suites. Experience with Geographix, GIS, Landmark, and onshore data bank software suites are required.
