The Company:
Our client is an independent growing oil and gas consultancy office with all technical know-how on reservoir engineering, seismic interpretation and field development planning regarding the Oil and Gas production with offices in The Hague, Abuja (Nigeria) and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). This client's customers are big multinational exploration and production multinationals as well as small independent Oil and Gas enterprises.

The Role:
Within this company we have several types of ‘geophysicists’ dependent on their core competences.

The majority of the geophysicists falls within the category of seismic interpreter. Dependent on job level and experience a seismic interpreter typically is entirely or to some degree familiar with various E&P arenas around the world and their exploration plays and field development challenges. He/she has detailed knowledge of seismic interpretation and its pitfalls, including attribute analysis and depth conversion methodologies. He/she also has a solid awareness of seismic processing and acquisition.

Several of client’s seismic interpreters have additional in-depth expertise in processing, e.g. seismic inversion, PreSDM, and more standard types of processing. Thus they complement client’s small group of staff that have processing as their core competence. Our client is also looking to expand that group.

The majority of the seismic interpreters in this company have significant geomodeling experience and in-depth geological expertise such that they can be considered to be experts in both disciplines. At the same time several of client’s geologists/geomodellers have added seismic interpretation to their core competences thus further facilitating the integrated work practices that are promoted within this company.

Geophysicists with appropriate experience will be project manager of one or more of the ongoing integrated projects and be responsible for communication with client and on time project delivery within budget.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

Technical skills and experience:

•Minimum 15 years experience
•Seismic interpretation skills (dependent on experience level)
•Familiarity /awareness varied E&P settings (dependent on experience level)
•Hands-on experience with interpretation software (as appropriate for experience level)

Summary of personal skills and qualifications:

•MSc or PhD in earth science, engineering or physics
•Good written and verbal technical English
•Strong analytical and communication skills
•Enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary team environment
