The Company:
Our Client is a large Automotive and Commercial Vehicle OEM, with a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering on a contract basis. These opportunities are typically based in their research and development facility located in Dunton which is the largest automotive technical centre in the United Kingdom.

The Role:
Working within the Global Diesel powertrain controls department the successful candidate will be responsible for releasing software aligned to the timing plan, the customer requirements and key program gateways. The candidate should also be proficient in software planning and development and the use of different software build environments and tools As this position is based in powertrain. A good understanding of modern diesel engine, vehicle control systems interactions and CAN communication is highly desirable. The candidate will be able to prioritise and deliver under varying levels of workload, to meet our customer requirements.

Skills Required:
Rally AccuRev / Jenkins CANalyser / CANoe / CAPL / CANdb++ ATI C / C++/ Matlab / Simulink MS Project MS Office Suite (Access / Excel / Word / PowerPoint).
Ability to respond positively on time limited issues.
Ability to prioritise several tasks.
Full UK driving license for 2+ years (or equivalent).

Skills Preferred:
Previous experience within Ford with other automotive OEM.

Experience Required:
Experience in software controls development.
Experience of software development processes and ways of working.
Experience of debugging software build and vehicle level software issues.
Understanding of Software development process, Ford diesel software architecture and business model and Software V cycle (development through to testing and signoff).
Proven ability to communicate and work effectively with others in a global context.
Proven ability to work with and direct external software suppliers.
Office software capabilities (Microsoft Packages).
Experience with CAN communication protocols and DBC files.

Additional Information :
Position is within the Global Powertrain Control Systems Team based in the Dunton Technical Centre (Limited travel to Continental Europe may be required).

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Education Required : Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience working with program management and gateways.
Experience of project management.
Experience of diesel Software Development Environment.
Experience of program gateway paper development and reporting.
Previous experience working in Powertrain and a good understanding of modern diesel engine and vehicle control systems is desirable.
