The Company:
Our Client provides oilfield products, systems and services for customers in the oil and gas industry world-wide. The company's knowledge and technologies span from reservoir to production and through the life of a field. The company employs approximately 25 000 people in more than 30 countries. They apply the knowledge and create and use technologies that deliver their customers' solutions.

The Role:
Maintain register of inpats to the UK for all our customers, and manage the modified payroll which is handled by our external provider. Collate all the relevant data and documentation.

Obtain relevant approvals and ensure payments are made to HMRC.

Collate data for UK Tax Return preparation (inpats and expats) – this includes employment income and benefits and also overseas taxes paid.

Monitor progress of Tax Returns throughout the process, liaising with employees to ensure deadlines are met. Ensure all refunds are correctly allocated

Assess requirement for E101 / A1 certificates for assignees to EEA countries and business travellers to Norway along with exemption certificates for other locations. Submit the relevant applications, including Article 17 Statements where applicable.

Provide copies of these certificates to host country tax advisers.

Calculate and process Voluntary Social Security Contributions as required, agreeing payment with HMRC and advising customers of correct payments to be made.

Assess and issue relevant tax forms to Expats / Inpats at commencement / end of assignments, submitting to HMRC on completion.  Check that appropriate changes have been made by HMRC / payroll.

Assess and monitor Social Security status for assignees checking NI codes following 52 weeks of overseas employment and on return to the UK at the end of assignment.

Check Net pay calculations and cost estimates before being issued to customers.

Provide UK compensation and benefit data for overseas taxes to other GM teams or relevant individuals in host countries.

Work closely with our assignees, customers, tax advisers and other members of the GM team.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Good grounding in UK payroll, with some exposure to international assignees/ business travellers.

Strong numeric skills with high level of attention to detail and accuracy

Experience in SAP payroll system would be an advantage.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office systems

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability manage changing priorities.

Organised, efficient and driven to producing quality results.

Able to work as part of a team, as well as individually.
