The Role:
< Role Overview >
This SQM Engineer position requires a working understanding of the oil and gas industry. An oil & gas or heavy engineering background would be an advantage but not essential.

The Role will be responsible for working with the North Sea project teams located around the UK and Overseas to manage and implement the SQM Common Process (SQMcp). In addition to this, stakeholder involvement and engagement is also a daily requirement when embedding the process with established working practices and supply chain. The role reports to the GPO PSCM Supplier Quality Manager - North Sea. The role is a dedicated Global Projects Organisation role, but there may be a requirement to support Client’s North Sea Operations where and when required.

< Roles & Responsibilities >

• Plan and lead Supplier Quality Audits in order to approve suppliers onto the Client Master Approved Vendor List.
• Manage the AVL and arrange the requirements for the use of 3rd Party Auditors
• Actively work with the suppliers and other internal disciplines to create and implement action plans to help reduce the Cost of Poor Quality
• Assist in the selection of suppliers for new projects based upon empirical evidence.
• Assist in the creation of Supplier Quality specifications within supplier submitted Quality Plans

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Engineering, Technical or Business degree - Required
- ISO9001:2008 Lead Auditor Qualification (Certified) - Required
- Membership of the CQI/ASQ or National Body - Preferred
- Six-Sigma Green Belt (Certified) - Preferred

- Oil & Gas or Heavy Engineering - Preferred
- Supplier Quality -Required
- Supplier Auditing to a recognised standard (ISO 9001 / ISO 29001 / API Q1) - Required
- Proven use of Root Cause Analysis and Quality tools - Required
- Proven ability to effectively work with a diverse range of disciplines and personnel to achieve a desired outcome. - Required
