The Company:
Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide

The Role:
To be part of the drives engineering team providing systems engineering expertise. The position is at a graduate level, based in Daresbury to enable development of skills and capabilities shaped into a specialist applications role for the future. This is a niche area project team that provides significant support to the drives product sales functions and automation project functions plus a high degree of customer interaction.

Specifically in the area of drives applications and integrating solutions between drive and automation products. The role is varied and will comprise elements of project management, engineering and a small amount of bid / proposals support and carry main responsibilities for:-

• Undertake Systems Design Engineering for Variable Speed Drive and Power Electronic related projects including all aspects of Power Engineering both Low and Medium voltage and associated equipment
• Undertake Control Systems Design Engineering for PLCs and SCADA. Design of control equipment (Hardware and Software)
• Perform engineering studies (eg system / harmonic analysis).
• Engineering visits to customer sites to access the project requirements, perform site inspections and technical assessments and to give technical support for customers during the design stage.
• Co-ordination with suppliers
• Provide engineering advice, comments and engineering support for enquiry specifications.
• Preparation of Engineering documentation incliuding schematic, general arrangement and Interconnection drawings, and any other engineering schedules as required by the project
• Provide installation and commissioning support to Service Engineers and Contractors engaged on the project
• Attend factory tests and customer witness tests
• Attend factory training courses
• Undertake engineering training courses as required
• Apply relevant engineering standards and best practice to deliver safe design and project implementation

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree in electrical and/or electronic engineering or related discipline
• Must be prepared to travel, mainly within UK, but with occasional trips abroad.
• Must possess full UK driving licence.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Technical excellence – must be able to apply engineering skills to real life applications.
• Customer orientation – must understand and recognise the need for customer service.
• Teamwork – must be willing to help others and work together with them
