The Company:
Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia. The Role:
An opportunity is available for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join the team based in Perth. In this role you will be responsible to develop and lead a team of health, safety, and environmental professionals on site during the construction and commissioning phases of the project.

Duties also include the following:

• Demonstrate leadership in building the supportive project IIF and safety culture.
• Develop and implement the Health, Safety and Risk Management programs, processes and procedures to meet Project HES objectives during the construction and commissioning phases of the project.
• Effectively manage the interface with the Joint Venture effectively.
• Seek synergy opportunities with existing HES programs.
• Work closely with the Upstream and Downstream contractors and sub contractors to deliver project safety and environmental requirements and objectives in a manner that is collaborative, open and recognises the key project drivers.
• Provide HES advice and guidance to the Management team and contractors.
• Share HES best practice and liaise with our clients Safety Network.
• Assist with leading development of an Incident and Injury Free culture within the entire site team, including all contractors, and subcontractors.
• Lead interaction in functional area of responsibility with government/regulatory agencies as required on site .
• Provide broad support to the Project Coordinator and general cross-functional support and leadership to the Project Environmental Team.
• Support Project and BU technical networks supporting environmental performance standards. Provide support to the Environmental Stewardship process.
• Coordinate contractor support for select environmental studies and develop deliverables in agreed timeframes, without incident or injury, and building on our clients reputation for environmental performance.
• Support Downstream Location Team to ensure key environmental concerns are addressed in continuing site investigative works.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
In order to be considered for this position you will require the following;

• A Degree in Engineering or Physical Science is required.
• A minimum of 15 years practicing as HES Professional with at least a minimum 5 years relevant recent experience in the oil and gas Production industries.
• Certificates in Root Cause Analysis training and auditor training.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• CSP and/or CIH Certifications preferred.

You will be a strong leader with good communications skills who can relate to all levels of an organisation.

Position duration is 12 months, located in Perth, working a 9 hour day / 9 day fortnight.
