The Company:
Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia.

The Role:
The Downstream H&S Supervisor (Piping) is a key member of the HESQ project team, reporting directly to the H&S Manager Construction.
The H&S Supervisor Piping must possess the skills to provide General Health and Safety (including specialist welding and piping) advice to Client, Contractors and their subcontractors in order to support general worksite safety activities and to ensure that all aspects of pipe work , welding, testing and inspection are performed in a safe and effective manner.

A key feature of the role is the ability to routinely deliver high performance results in a demanding work environment, to ensure that an effective coordinated approach is deployed which ensures scaffold activities are coordinated in a systematic manner.

To achieve in this role the HSS Piping Supervisor must be a competent HSS professional with piping/welding experience; The H&S Supervisor Piping must possess extensive experience and is technically competent in the following generalist HSSE processes:
• HSS Management systems, including training and competency, legislative requirements
• Document review and approvals
• Incident reporting and Investigation – including root cause (RCA) techniques,
• Hazard identification (HAZID process)
• Action management
• HSE databases
• Working at heights • Plus have extensive experience and is technically competent (subject matter expert) in the following;
• welder, pipe fitter by trade – technical SME
• Good working knowledge of isomeric drawing
• Understand welding procedures
• Working knowledge of AS/NZ 1617
• The use of safety harness and the use of harness fall recovery and retrieval equipment;
• Performing welding competency assessments
• SIMOPs and communications with other disciplines during scaffold erection and dismantling

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Diploma or degree qualified.
• Broad technical and H&S skills in construction.
• 2 + years generalist HSS experience
• Project experience with a large multi-disciplined workforce.
• Technical expert in welding/piping.
• 5+ year’s broad-based welding/Piping Supervisor experience.
• Australian or Internationally recognized welding accreditation
• Certificate IV Frontline management desirable
