The Company:
A fast growing international company specialising in Engineering, Ship Repair and Maintenance, Shipbuilding and Conversion, Rig building and refurbishment, FPSO/FSO conversion, offshore fabrication, Maritime Clusters and Fleet operations.

The Role:
Candidate must be a competent and experienced Master Mariner with VLCC movements experience.

Scope

Act as a custodian of company Marine Waters and activities in company marine waters. Responsible for all Marine Manoeuvres in yard and the resources used for achieving these manoeuvres. Responsible for all floating crafts in the yard. The responsibility also includes maintaining Marine Waters in a clean and pollution free condition.

Responsible for:

Ensuring safety standards are met especially the safety of vessel traffic and all resources being used for the operation. To ensure safety of harbour and vessels by ensuring adequate aids for navigation / manoeuvring and safe depths. To maintain and keep records for depths in the harbour under jurisdiction. To keep Department Manager informed about need of any dredging required for same.
Ensuring that Quality standards are met.
Ensure harbour waters are maintained to high standard of cleanliness and pollution free by way of regular monitoring and remedial actions. To lead a quick response team in case of accidental spillage.
To balance safety and efficiency and hence to act as coordinator and facilitator of various services offered by DT section to various internal and external customers.
Liaising with Production Control for dockings and vessel movements.
Ensuring Productivity and section performance are optimized. The control of resources including manpower for various DT related activities.
To ensure all floating crafts including Tugs, Dredger, launches, pontoons, Floating dock, Floating crane, fenders and associated equipment are maintained in safely afloat condition.
Planning for vessels movement on a daily basis in conjunction with Production Control Planning.
Interaction and liaison with local port authorities and keep department manager updated with various developments, opportunities and threats or concerns in the field of Marine movements and associates and marine water related activities.
Ensuring that all processes relating to DT are maintained and improved where possible.
Continual improvement.
To keep department Manager advised about all manoeuvres and safety related issues. To ensure Risk Assessments and appropriate control measures are in place for the jobs in Marine Dept.
Implement and monitor OH&S, Environment and Quality Management System.
Perform other job related duties as assigned by the section head.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Master Mariner with adequate experience in drydocks operation as dock master. Piloting experience is desirable.
Good knowledge and background in rigging, dredger and tugs operation.
Good inter personnel communication skills.
