The Role:
Job description:

• To provide HAZOP Chair/ Facilitator expertise within a Technical SHE Section based in Darlington, UK for key Clients.
• The key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
 Preparation of HAZOP Terms of Reference (ToR) document(s) and ensure timely issue to all HAZOP participants
 Responsible and accountable to facilitate the HAZOP Review(s) at Client sites.
 Acts as an independent HAZOP Leader for the other current projects within Organisation.
 Approve the HAZOP close-out report and responsible for the quality of the close out actions
 Quality and timely completion of HAZOP reviews. Being alert to time pressures and ensure that the quality, thoroughness, or integrity of the review is not compromised.
 Responsible for implementation of requirements of BP GP 48-02 HAZOP Studies and procedures.
 Advising project/site leadership of issues that could affect the integrity of the study and working with leadership to ensure an effective resolution.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge & Experience required:

• Certified HAZOP Chairman/Lead (IChemE or equivalent)
• B.Eng (Hons) or an appropriate engineering qualification. Member of an Engineering Institution. Chartered status would be desirable.
• The ideal candidate will be a qualified HAZOP Chair, who is on the BP Approved List of HAZOP Lead’s with experience of Onshore Oil Storage and Handling Terminals (UK).
• Experience in other PHA or risk assessment techniques such as consequences analysis, reliability analysis, and QRA, that may be recommended to further address hazards identified by HAZOP team.
• Familiar with LOPA requirements and should ensure that information required to perform a LOPA is discussed and captured in the HAZOP worksheets.
• Successful HAZOP Chair track record with good technical and analytical abilities
• Experience with Statutory / Regulatory requirements for onshore projects.
