The Company:
Our client, a diverse Canadian Energy Company, plans new developments estimated at $12+ Billion over the next 5 years.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only. Residents of Newfoundland & Labrador will be given first consideration for this position.

The Role:
The incumbent will work within the team, and will be responsible for providing input into the design, field programs, and execution of the HDD program. The incumbent will be responsible for:
- Working with the Landfall Lead to complete detailed design of Horizontal Directionally Drilled landfall.
- Perform design, constructability and operability reviews.
- Provide design inputs to installation, protection, and cable engineers.
- Support the contracting process for the expression of interest, request for proposal, evaluation and execution of Horizontal Directional Drilling contract.
- Ensure contractors/vendors are fit for purpose through audits and qualification specifications.
- Manage progression of HDD execution to ensure cable boreholes are drilled to specification.
- Provide field supervision of HDD programs.
- Monitor field costs and ensure work is progressing on time and on budget.
- Contribute to drilling and cable conduit installation procedures.
- Approve and participate with the QA department in the development of ITP's for the HDD activities and identify hold and witness points in the ITP's and act on behalf of the company.
- Ensure lessons learned from other owners involved in HDD are incorporated in the project.
- Other duties as required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• 7-15 years successful experience related to execution of major projects;
• Prior on site management experience of horizontal drilling programs (or similar).
• Large project experience, preferably, in East Coast Canada marine environments.
• Prior experience interfacing with consulting engineering companies and execution contractors;
• Understanding of engineering processes and management systems;
• Background with resolution of technical / management issues during projects' planning and execution phases;
• Proven interpersonal, leadership and team skills.
