The Role:
HEAD of Business Development – Americas

Our client is an international conglomerate consisting of technology, engineering, manufacturing, construction and financial services.

They are engaged in many key sectors of the economy – Infrastructure, Hydrocarbon, Power, Defense, Aerospace, Construction, Shipbuilding, Electrical & Automation, Mining and Metallurgy.


Our client has recently started a restructuring program with its businesses organized under the umbrella of 10 Independent Companies. These companies are getting prepared to reach their strategic aspiration of being listed in the stock exchange. They have independent members from within the Company and of eminence and excellence from outside the Company and virtually function with the autonomy of an independent listed company in most business related matters

This company provides flow-control solutions to a wide spectrum of industries worldwide – they offer a wide range of valves such as Gate, Globe and Check valves, Process and Pipeline Ball valves, High Pressure valves, Butterfly valves, and is making an entry into Control valves.

PURPOSE

To establish the company as a major provider of Flow control products in the Americas as well as the marketing and sales network in major regions of the continent, network with major end users and contractors and industry stake holders, in order to achieve the targeted growth in the market.


REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering and/or Business
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience developing business as well as managing a team with a proven record of delivering high performance
• Have extensive, established network in the Oil & Gas and Power sectors and with other major valve users/distributors


RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop the Americas markets and achieve the Order inflow and Sales targets for the region by developing a strong network of sales team and distributors.
• To develop strategies for sales promotion and implement them.
• To work out short term and long term forecasts for the region.
• Daily management of the sales channels.
• Provide training, both product and selling to our channel partners.
• Develops, maintains profiles for clients (end users, licensers representatives and E&C firms).
• Provide Management with monthly Regional reports
• Prepares and submits for approval an annual operating budget and operates within it.
• Provide Market intelligence and pricing recommendations
• Work closely with product Management to drive the growth of all products within the region.
• Provide technical assistance to customers on an as needed basis.
• Take ownership of major projects within the region providing overall strategy to win the business.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
