The Role:
REPORTS TO: Co-CEO

SUMMARY: This motivated individual will be responsible to develop, plan, and execute the PR strategy, PR events, media outreach and both internal and external PR communications. This is a head of level position because the job responsibility includes the ability to help us define and re-define what PR means for WEH. Under the direction of the CEO, this position is responsible for the planning and execution of all public relations strategies and events. The position is also responsible for finding answers and solutions to the question of how to significantly elevate PR profile and posture, within an entrepreneurial company with the potential of a global customer base and internal structure. The basic responsibilities and accountabilities are described below.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Establishes an important bridge between the company, the media, and other organizations.
• Works with other internal groups to coordinate resources and personnel, to ensure that we meet objectives, timelines and budgets, and to ensure that the WEH message is effectively and professionally communicated in all public and internal communications.
• Develop an editorial calendar and pitch corresponding stories and story ideas; bring journalists and willing customers together; proactively develop interview topics.
• Plan and execute PR events, tours, site visits etc.
• Work with others to develop photo shoot and visit opportunities.
• Identify main client groups and audiences and determine the best way to communicate publicity information to them.
• In absence of a senior management, field’s requests to obtain and document requested modifications to PR work in progress.
• Write interesting and effective press releases, prepare information for media kits and develop and maintain relevant content for company internet or intranet web pages.
• Manage special events such as sponsorships, press dinners, parties introducing new products or other activities to gain public attention through the media without advertising directly.
• Works with team in coordinating, preparing and producing deliverables and items for presentations; reviews all materials before presentations and final production.
• Draft speeches for company executives, and arrange interviews and other forms of contact for them.
• Revamp company website to draw consumer, investor, and talent interest.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with trade and mainstream media journalists.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal sources of information (BD, Project Management, Construction, O&M) and work with them to maintain a flow of information for internal and external purposes.
• Develop and maintain relationships with Investor Relations; develop and maintain procedures for press releases, and for determining which information can be made public.
• Actively involved in preparing publicity brochures, handouts, promotional videos and multimedia programs that serve to reach the company's policies to the public.
• Develop and implement the PR strategy, coordinating with stakeholders across the Company to ensure its effectiveness and encouraging adoption of relevant social media techniques into the corporate culture and into all of the company’s products and services.
• Work with the development, People Office, IT teams to ensure social media tools (for ex. Linked In, website, etc.) are kept up to date.
• Manage PR campaigns and day-to-day activities. Duties include online advocacy, writing editorial, community-outreach efforts, promotions, etc.
• Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of PR programs, and analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.
• Monitor trends in media tools, trends and applications.

• Must be an adept writer and excellent verbal communicator.
• Demonstrated ability to administer concurrent multiple assignments and large projects.
• Proven ability to use independent judgment within the limits of standard company policies and procedures, and to work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to plan, organize and implement programs requiring close attention to detail.
• Adept at writing extensive articles, pitch stories, blogs and other writing assignments that might arise
• Able to execute complex public relations initiatives with minimal supervision and general direction only.

• Willing to operationally understand Company culture, vision, mission, goals and objectives to determine best way of communicating key messages to trade and main stream press.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or journalism strongly preferred.
• 10 to 15 years of direct experience in executing successfully complex public relations programs. Renewable industry experience a plus.
