The Company:
Our Client is a state-owned corporation established in the early 70's, is responsible for all phases of the oil and gas industry in Qatar.

The principal activities of our Client, its subsidiaries and joint ventures cover exploration, drilling and production operations, transport, storage, marketing and sale of crude oil, natural gas liquids, liquefied natural gas, gas-to-liquids, refined products, petrochemicals and fertilizers, and helicopter and financial services.

The Role:
Ensures that the efforts of the highly skilled staff under the incumbent’s direction are concentrated on activities with the highest impact on decision making and resource value.
Ensures that Qatar’s all exploration and appraisal operations meet its objective and are cost effective.
Monitors and guides the exploration/appraisal of all International Oil Companies (IOC’s)/Contractors operating in Qatar.
Works jointly with Exploration Development PSA companies in optimizing exploration and appraisal plans.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree in Petroleum Engineering.
• 15+ years experience in reservoir engineering activities emphasizing large carbonate reservoirs
• Significant experience working on mature oil fields under water flood
• Strong background in reservoir surveillance and optimisation
• Strong background in well test interpretation, material balance modelling and performance modelling of vertical and horizontal wells
• Must have experience/knowledge of current computer software for reservoir engineering applications
• Must have strong leadership, organizational and communication skills.
• Must have superior ability to plan, organize and execute.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, management and less experienced staff.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum of 16 years experience in upstream E&P with a minimum of 10 years direct technical experience in reservoir surveillance, geosciences and subsurface field development with 5+ years of direct supervisory experience.
• High levels of expertise in working in multi-national teams, supervising, fostering teamwork across many cultures and nationalities.
• Experience with well testing and allocation of well test/production data.
• Experience with IPR modelling.
• Worked on mature producing fields where the integration of data has been difficult and constrained models, maps and interpretations.
• Experience with cased and open hole logs.
• Exposure and knowledge of reservoir simulation modelling.
• Worked with geologic modellers.
• Experience mentoring less experienced staff.
