The Role:
To lead the project section ensuring the execution of all projects as per established standards and project shedules. Develop and ensure implementation of Project Management principles, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include;

- As a senior member of the projects department team contributes to the formulation and implementation of the Projects department Strategy and plans as appropriate the department needs and objectives.
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the assigned organizational unit, ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established standards and procedures,
employees are motivated, understand what is expected of them and perform according to the designated standards.
- Assist Project Manager in providing feedback to executive management on physical progress related to all running projects.
- Contribute to the development and oversee the implementation of department policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of the Projects department activity to ensure that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers.
- Assign, monitor and control approved projects for implementation from inception to completion and handover in order to ensure alignment of the same with the set time, quality and cost.
- Follow up on project progress and assign a focal point to be dedicated to project in order to ensure a single point of responsibility for project progress issues.
- Direct and manage external engineering consultants and contractors to ensure their compliance to project estimated costs and deadlines.
- Cordinate and provide support to all project site construction activities through Construction team.
- Prepare cost estimates and implement budget controls to ensure that costs are realistic and are within the scope required .
- Maintain master projects plan ensuring that it is a complete list, regularly updated and easily referenced and accessible.
- Assign resources to projects ensuring that workload balances are achieved across the senior project engineers in order to ensure adequate span of control over respective projects.
- Co-ordinate and expedite all commercial activities for projects to ensure the proper tendering of all projects.
- Direct and manage commercial evaluation process ensuring that it is completed within the allotted time and in collaboration with the commercial department.
- Review the requirements for preparation of tender documents to ensure the tender is adequately alligned with company standards.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering
PMP Certification (preferable)
12 years of experience in an engineering project management role with at least 8 years in a petrochemical company.
