The Company:
Our client is a leading global oil and gas operating company.

The Role:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Agency Safety Advisor supports the Company planning, Performance and Learning Team and serves as their representative. The Advisors will:
• provide deep insight into HSE Performance through analysis of incident
Coach and influence area leadership’s decisions as they affect the HSE culture
• Coach and influence area workforce performance as it affects HSE issues
• Advocate compliance with regulatory and Company HSE requirements
• Provide accurate safety statistical information and analysis of that information to the workforce
• Identify potential hazards and propose safe work practices to leadership teams
• Provide expertise on hazard identification and risk mitigation processes.
• Provide effective health and safety communication throughout all levels of the workforce
• Work to ensure consistency of approach an application of health and safety programs across all functions
• Ensure health and safety systems, policies, procedures and programs used to manage jobs are understood and are utilized by Company and contract personnel
• Conduct self in accordance with the safety professional’s code of conduct
• Provide or suggest interventions for H&S performance issues

Deliverables

• Trend analysis of HSE data to help in support of HSE performance improvement.
Recommendations on intervention opportunities based on performance data analysis.
Reports and presentations on data trending and analysis.
Recommendations for relevant lessons learned from incident and near miss reports to communicate acorss the Alaska Region.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience & Knowledge
Required Qualifications:
To be considered for the role of Field Safety Professional II applicants must have:
• Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than your current employer.
• A minimum of five years of experience working in a H & S site safety role.
• Experience in risk assessment, job safety analysis, incident investigations, permitting, atmospheric monitoring, root cause analysis.
• Experience working with outside contractors.
• Strong skills with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• The ability for occasional work in an arctic environment.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:

In addition to the required qualifications the successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate:
• Oil and gas industry experience.
• Construction project experience.
Experience with Process Safety and Integrity Management
Familiarity with environmental performance measures
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Engineering or related discipline or Occupational Health and Safety Technologist or Construction Safety and Health Technologist
• A strong knowledge base of OSHA regulations and demonstrated application
• Demonstrate competency in core safety programs, including: Permit to Work; Energy Isolation; Ground Disturbance; Confined Space Entry; Working at heights; Lifting Operations; Driving Safety; Management of Change
