The Company:
An opportunity has arisen for a Health & Safety Advisor to join a client who are a provider of an diverse and expanding range of infrastructure services. The candidate must have a strong track record working within the gas industry preferably on pipeline projects.

The Role:
The role will be site based and would involve offering specialist knowledge to site staff and sub-contractors on daily site practices.
• Responsible to the Health, Safety & Environmental Manager.
• Ensure that all personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, and to provide advice as and when required.
• Advise and assist all Managers to discharge their responsibilities for the Health and Safety of employees and others to whom they have a duty as defined by Statutory Regulations and Company practice.
• Carry out regular inspections of sites and work places to determine whether work is being carried out in accordance with Company Policy, Procedures and the relevant Statutory Provisions.
• Carry out accident/incident investigations in accordance with the Company Accident/Incident Reporting Procedure
• Analysing all data and making recommendations to avoid any recurrences.
• Ensure compliance with all requirements stipulated in the Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan and the Environmental Plan.
• Maintain records as necessary to ensure compliance with Statutory Legislation and Contract Requirements.
• Carry out site inductions and other training as required.
• Participate in the work of safety committees and joint consultations affecting the workforce.
• Assist in the preparation & review of project H&S documents including those of 3rd parties.
• Participate in the preparation and review of RAMS.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Over 5years experience working in health and safety
• Experience of working on National Grid Sites would be preferable
• NEBOSH Certificate
• Environmental Qualification (IEMA)
• Experience of working on large scale projects
• Full driving license
• Disclosure Scotland
• SHEA Gas Training
