The Role:

Promotion of zero harm through fostering the development and utilization of appropriate work practices and procedures.

• In addition the role will foster an appropriate HSE culture and stimulate line ownership of HSE, ensuring HSE risks are managed according to company HSEC Management Standards. To work towards our company being an Industry leader in applicable HSE arenas


• Stimulate improvements to procedures and work practices;
• Work with contractors to influence HSE improvement
• Participate in workplace activities to raise the quality of HSE input, including JSAs, incident investigation and risk management;
• Provide HSE and technical support for general queries and report on HSE performance and best practice;
• Audit and monitor the implementation of the company Fatal Risk Control Protocols;
• Support and coach the facility management team in appropriate HSE leadership and conduct other HSE training.
• Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) plans for assigned facilities.
• Provide oversight to support site activities having effective work safety arrangements
• Provide oversight to support commissioning operations and ensure appropriate risk assessment is conducted
• Provide or source specialist HSE advice and assistance to assigned sites
• Liaise with operations staff to ensure effective use of best practice and consistency in approach to HSE activities.
• Promote a risk-based approach to HSE management.
• Participate in and facilitate HSE audits, reviews & assessments
• Support the implementation and achievement of campaign and project HSE objectives and performance measures.
• Lead initiatives to promote visible and pro-active management commitment and employee involvement in HSE activities.
• Review and support existing HSE training plans and specific operations/campaign/project training needs.
• Support collecting, storing, analyzing, tracking and reporting HSE performance data (eg. Incident report findings, Audit actions,)
• Provide input and review with Site personnel – weekly-monthly HSE reports
• Support monthly Safety meetings and review of statistics.
• Plan and participate in HSE audits of Contractors.
• Network with peers to utilize Best Practices and Lessons Learned

• HSE Manager PMPU
• HSE Supervisor
• HSE Superintendents
• Line Management (Upstream Operations, Midstream, Construction)
• Field Operations Team the PMPU HSE Senior HSE Specialist will be based in the Houston office with up 30% of domestic travel may be required.
• It will be a full time position reporting to the PMPU HSE Supervisor. The role will provide support to the sites formally through the HSE team and informally to any personnel in the field. The role will be supported by the NAS Divisional HSE team.


• Engineering or Science Degree, or HSE certification
• Audit certification
• Risk management courses.
• HSE management courses


• Minimum 5+ years HSE experience in oil and gas
• Understanding of site based HSE Operations
• Experience in HSE reporting systems
• HSE Regulations Understanding, OSHA, DOT, TRCC, TEQC, EPA......
• Risk management and risk assessment skills.
• Knowledge of Safety Case process and requirements
• Technical Proficiency in and knowledge of Operational Procedures, PTW, MOC, CSE, Working at Heights......
• Technical Proficiency in training program development and delivery methods
• Technical Proficiency in Auditing
• Technical Proficiency in Incident Investigation
• Technical Proficiency in Emergency Response
