Major Oil and Gas Operator

The Role:
This is a field rotational role (14/14) in the Victoria area.
• Provide specialist HSE advice and assistance to BHPB Drill Site Supervisors and Superintendents.
• Liaise with the Drilling HSE team to ensure effective use of best practice and consistency in approach to HSE activities.
• Promote a risk-based approach to HSE management within the Drilling operations.
• Participate in and facilitate audits and reviews of Drilling Contractor HSE management systems and ensure implemented and fit for purpose.
• Lead initiatives to promote visible and pro-active management commitment and employee involvement in HSE activities.
• Review existing training plans and training needs, provide training, as appropriate and/or facilitate visiting specialist trainers.
• Ensure there is an effective system for collecting, storing, analyzing, tracking and reporting HSE performance data
• Participate in risk management and HSE activities including risk assessments, audits, HSE Meetings, and forums including on-site activities.
• Provide HSE technical support to multiple rig sites
KEY RELATIONSHIPS This position is field based and directly reports to the HSE Drilling Supervisor based in Houston. As a member of the North America Shale Drilling HSE Team, the incumbent will work very closely with assigned Drilling Superintendents to ensure rig site delivery of technical and effective HSE practices. Incumbent will coach and mentor personnel at rig sites and liaise with Drill Site Supervisor to ensure delivery of effective HSE technical support. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS COMPETENCIES: • Proven leadership and time management abilities. • Comprehensive knowledge of drilling operations. • Comprehensive understanding of HSE issues in Drilling. • Proven Risk management and risk assessment skills. • Proficiency in Incident Investigation and result driven • Proven ability to develop and deliver projects on time • Proven ability to deliver presentation material • Proven ability to influence contractors for HSE improvements QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING: • Prefer Engineering or Science Degree, preferably with Occupational Safety and Health content. • OSDHA, PSM, EPA, TRRC, and/or Risk management courses. • Intermediate level computer skills consisting of Word, Excel, Power Point • Spanish speaking desirable EXPERIENCE: • 5-10 years of HSE experience in oil and gas exploration and production with at least 5 years drilling specific experience. • Land or offshore experience in several campaign types using several rig types.
