The Company:
Our major oil and gas client is seeking a Heat Transfer Engineer for a temp to perm opportunity in Houston, TX.
The Role:
Provide technical support, including troubleshooting, debottlenecking, and optimization, for unfired heat transfer equipment in operating plants, including all types of heat exchangers and air coolers
Develop and conduct necessary computer modeling and simulation of material and heat transfer properties
Engage partners outside company such as material suppliers, component fabricators, equipment manufacturers, engineering and design firms, and service contractors.
Preparation of unfired heat transfer equipment design (thermal, hydraulic, and mechanical)
Project support/quality assurance
Guidance to technology development, design practices, and procurement standards
Technical Assurance for projects and services within the Heat Transfer discipline
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum of BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
Strong knowledge in the field of heat transfer and physics of transport phenomena and fluid flow
10 years of experience in the specification, performance design and evaluation of unfired heat transfer equipment in the oil and gas exploration and production, refining, chemical, and petrochemical industries
Knowledge of industry codes and standards applied to heat transfer equipment, including ASME, TEMA, and API/ISO standards
Skilled in the design and performance analysis of unfired heat transfer equipment using the Heat Transfer Research, Inc (HTRI) software tools
Knowledge of exchanger operation and control, mechanical design aspects and maintenance activities and procedures
Strong project management and coordination skills
Ability to work independently with little oversight
Ability to work with industries and technology suppliers outside of the company.
