The Company:
With operations across the world, our client uses innovation and technology to deliver energy to a growing world. They are currently leading an integrated LNG project that includes the construction of an LNG plant, located northwest of Port Moresby on the Gulf of Papua, with a capacity of 6.6 million tons per year.

The Role:
An experienced Heavy Lift and Transportation specialist is required to monitor and appraise the contractor’s lifting and transportation management programs and associated field materials handling activities to ensure appropriate plans and procedures are in place, and the programs and activities are executed safely in line with the approved plans and procedures, and relevant laws, regulations, and code of practices.

Specifically you will review and endorse lifting, transportation, lay down and storage plans and procedures, work permits and JSA’s including method statements, rigging studies, lift/transport/tie-down/lay-down drawings, equipment suitability, etc. for conformance with project specifications, owner’s standards, safe work practices, and applicable codes.

Promoting safety awareness and a strong safe work culture (not limited to materials handling), you will evaluate performance of the Contractor’s lifting and transportation organisation, and recommend remedial steps where deficiencies are noted. Coordinating with company’s safety team to ensure adequate safety coverage for on-site lifting, transportation and associated materials handling activities, you will plan, facilitate and participate in safety audits.

This is a residential assignment based in PNG and offers an attractive remuneration package.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
A solid background in the construction of petrochemical/gas plants with a proven histrory related specifically to heavy lift and transportation planning and execution.
