The Role:
The Sr. HES Specialist will report directly to the Nemba HES Team Lead [TL] and be responsible for developing and implementing a wide range of safety and health related programs for project team personnel and contractors. The candidate will provide technical guidance and HES assistance to the Nemba Project, e.g. safety of designs, Construction Safety, HES procedures, Risk management, Incident Investigation, Emergency Response Plans/Preparedness, hazardous materials management, motor vehicle safety, behavior based safety observation programs, ergonomics, personal protective equipment, permitting (EIA License) and other loss prevention programs.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Candidate should have a strong background in safety and health program development and implementation to produce leadership behaviors and culture necessary to achieve and maintain world class HES performance.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor, this can be substituted by relevant operational experience.
Previous work experience (10 years minimum) in safety, environmental and health management including CHESM & MSW implementation. Demonstrated ability to coordinate with other functional groups (e.g., engineering, operations) and to manage 3rd party contractor HES performance. Ability to independently identify, develop and implement HES programs. Offshore Brownfield and Subsea experience is a plus. Direct experience with international projects, preferably in West Africa (3 years minimum).
