The Company:
Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia. The Role:
We are looking for an experienced and proven HES Manager with a Marine background, who can manage and supervises a team of H&S advisors that cover both marine and construction activities. This group provides safety advice and guidance to the joint venture Marine/Construction team and contractors for jetty and land based construction and commissioning.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Stewarding compliance assurance and operational discipline associated with joint venture Health & Safety procedures and the HSS Marine Management Plan Phase 4 on both jetty and land based construction and commissioning activities
• Revising documents according to business needs.

• Championing implementation of site specific Safety (CHESM) Improvement Plan for contractors
• These plans include key performance indicators, supervisor to worker ratios, integration of Fatality Prevention, CHESM requirements, and proactive planning for high risk work
• Facilitating the effective engagement of contractor site management and personnel
• Monitor and ensure compliance with project HSE requirements in construction activities
• Provide advice and support to Joint venture/Client Project management in all matters relating to HSE
• Act as technical authority in matters relating to HSE legislation and Company HSE Procedures

• Participating and ensuring quality of Gorgon H&S risk assessments, HAZID and other safety processes (i.e., incident investigation)
• Supporting the Construction team to ensure consistency of process and standards
• Promoting ‘One Island’ safety culture in support of the Construction Teams’ IIF implementation
• Assisting with Emergency Response program, including the Cyclone Response Plan

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Technical expert in occupational safety, health and environmental stewardship; risk assessment; human factors and HESQ management systems.
• 10+ years broad-based Marine / HES / Construction experience, with prior experience in one or more HESQ related disciplines.
• Marine background desirable with broad technical and HESQ skills in construction, marine or commissioning activities.
• Leadership by example: recognizes, develops and enhances the potential of the workforce to achieve flawless project execution.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and persuasive.
• Effective coaching: understands and articulates performance expectations and is effective in communicating these to the work force and motivating them to achieve results.
• Extensive organizational skill: possesses initiative to independently manage a diverse workload of changing priorities and ability to maintain continuity in times of organizational change. Ability to assess and act on project reso

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• HES related diploma / registered safety professional desired but not essential
• Certified HES Auditor (desired) with knowledge of HES Management Systems and HES procedures
