The Role:
Main Goals & Objectives:

To generate sketches and ideation for automotive user interfaces utilising 2D/3D and GUI material, meeting program definition and human factors criteria matching technical factors utilising brand and lifestyle influences. To ensure that all program requirements are met and data is released at the appropriate product development gate releases, to the required standard. To advise in the feature contenting of future programs

Main responsibilities:

To develop design proposals for the HMI/GUI in the form of sketches, renderings, CAD models and animation.
To create new display based designs and control logic combined with knowledge of state-of-the-art technologies in communication. An understanding of the latest developments in automotive and electronic user interfaces.
Graphical communication ability: - 3D modelling skills, 2D & 3D Visualisation skills combined with illustration and animation of interfaces to support communication of interface device function where appropriate. Design and ergonomic understanding to develop interfaces that are intuitive and logical to use. Create material which can be used for supplier sourcing and negotiation. Must be able demonstrate a good up to date knowledge of competitor design direction and state-of-the-art technologies for his/her area of expertise.
Able to work effectively in a cross functional team includes contacts to the Engineering and other functional departments, as well as relevant outside companies during the concept and/or realisation phase, including Group colleagues.

Practical & Technical Knowledge:

Proficient at visualisation using Photoshop, Illustrator, Autodesk Alias AutoStudio and a good understanding of After Effects, Bunkspeed or Modo is essential.
Required to manage projects with the ability to enable self and others to meet required deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal and team development skills


Appropriate Design Degree or Masters.
Proven experience working as a designer with evidence of design production or conceptual projects that have been undertaken and/or managed.
