The Role:
My client is currently seeking a Test & Development / Homologation Engineer to ensure that their vehicle range is always compliant with the requirements of legislation and regulation in all current and new markets, ensuring that vehicle, including all its systems, sub-systems and components are subjected to and pass appropriate tests and validation which will in turn ensure reliable operation in the market place.

Knowledge of the following:

Legal, Homologation, Test & Validation of Vehicles, systems and components, Design, cost and marketability of product, Quality of product, Conformity of production to support continuity of sales
Ability of product to deliver customer satisfaction.

Main Duties

• Create and maintain a complete set of vehicle test procedures, specifications, records of SMMT publishing data and forthcoming legalisation issues which affect company products
• Create, obtain and maintain all necessary homologation paperwork and documents for vehicles, systems and component Approvals
• Read record, store and understand the impact upon company products of all regulations (existing and new, local & PCO) and update management and employees (where applicable) of the impact of these regulations, preparing advanced warning of these regulations upon engineering programmes
• Provide signatory approval for all designs to ensure compliance with legal and homologated issues
• Facilitate, organise and control all COP audits (TYPE APPROVALS) with VCA
• Undertake assessments of the overall performance and capabilities of design proposals with a view towards legislation and homologation
• Compile appropriate test specifications for systems and components. Ensure that systems and components are fully validated to these specifications
• Ensuring design changes are fully validated prior to release in line with Company Procedures
• Consult external manufacturers and suppliers on the design, test & validation specification of propriety components and assemblies for new and existing products
• Support investigations on design problems raised through company procedures and external suppliers, ensuring a successful conclusion
• Preparing documentation in line with Company procedures for product changes
• Provides legislation, homologation, test & validation advice to other engineers as necessary and preliminary checks drawings.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience engineer, ideally with a relevant degree or work related experience
