The Role:
Fulfils an HR Manager role within a busy HR group providing guidance, support, mentoring and coaching to HR Advisory team.

Participates in applicable BU operational management meetings and works closely with applicable BU management teams to ensure delivery of high quality HR advisory services into the BU’s.

Influences, supports & facilitates implementation of delivery of policies and programmes covering all Aker Solutions People Process activities in line with and in support of regional function owners and external service providers.

Also supports and assists as required with the development and design of all such policies and programmes in line with regional function owners and external service providers.

Assist in driving towards UK Region and one Legal Entity. Contributes to the business strategy by helping Head of HR & BU leaders to identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviours, and structures.

Facilitate & drive long-term initiatives aligned with the strategic business and HR agenda, including change management and culture development.

Aligning HRBP / Senior Advisor and Advisor roles & deliveries across Subsea / MMO / Region

First point of escalation for operational issues within delivery areas

Decision maker on operational matters to enable Head of HR in applicable geographic area to support delivery of HR regional and BU/BA business strategy

Key business influencer for new process interfaces, to define, shape and improve the way we work:
Global Mobility

Key HR operational interface with regional centres (Reward, SWP, PSC LD&C) and external Akastor service providers

Identify new opportunities where HR can add value to the business

Actively participate in the local BU management teams and operational management meetings

Handling personnel issues, performance issues, individual development and retention plans. Maintain consistency of approach across business units and departments whilst at all times protecting the Company’s position.

Advising managers and staff on policies, procedures, employment law and union-related questions (where appropriate).

Supporting managers with absence management, salary reviews, negotiations and exit processes as well as all general employee relations issues.

Working actively with reinforcing company values in behaviour and people management skills.

Responsible for ensuring managers and employees buy-in to HR tools and processes, providing feedback on the effectiveness of HR tools and processes.

In line with above, support a consistent and aligned delivery of the Aker Solutions performance evaluation process (MyPerformance) by ensuring management follow agreed processes and schedule and undertake performance evaluations with all their staff employees as scheduled throughout the year.

Support with talent calibration & salary review process. Work with line managers to ensure top performers are identified, and are being challenged motivated and provided with career progression and challenging assignments in line with their performance and expectations.

Maintains knowledge of progressive HR practices and key trends and coaches and advises managers and employees on best practices and HR issues.

Support and provide advice to management on aspects of UK Employment Law legislation and any potential impact on their activities.

Acting as HR operational focal point as appropriate for Company People Process activities and working at all times to ensure a consistent “One Aker Solutions” approach is followed in these areas across all BU’s.

Attend external events as required such as recruitment fairs & graduate fairs in support of business activities and as Company representative as required

Protect the Company’s position at all times by maintaining consistency of approach to ensure that ET claims are avoided by implementation of best practice HR.

To challenge and correct any non standard courses of action or potentially precedent setting activities.

Other duties as assigned from time to time

MMO Offshore Specific Activities

Attend the MMO UK weekly Resource meetings

Provide HR/Management support for offshore project and management visits. Willing and available to travel offshore / offsite as required.

Ensure OCA partnership agreement is upheld and fully implement any changes

Deputise where appropriate at HR.-EPC OCA meetings and activities

Provide OCA with manpower figures on a monthly basis

Lead and support the HR On-call team ensuring full coverage of all on call requirements in maintained at all times

Attend Contract Performance Reviews (C.P.R.’s) as required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
CIPD qualified or equivalent expected

Degree or equivalent relevant qualification preferred

Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Working knowledge in SAP.

Knowledge of discipline at work and UK employment law

Presentation skills

Demonstrable relevant experience of managing an HR department, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry

Demonstrable relevant experience providing HR operational advisory services within an “Offshore / Site” Projects based organisation, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry.

Experience of conducting disciplinary hearings

Experience of conducting interviews

Knowledge / experience of OCA requirements, regulations & activities

Knowledge and experience of dealing with trade unions

Competence in how to use the SAP HR module

Recruitment Management System

Structured and consistent, with the ability to enforce HR policies and procedures in a service-minded and results oriented manner
