The Role:
The site H&S Advisor provides site functional leadership in their discipline. Acts as a line coach to leaders, engineers, supervisors and technicians. Helps raise the capability of the workforce in all areas of H&S.


•Maintain a highly visible profile and reputation for communication and actively support the local Area Operations line management, Safety Representatives and employees to develop their roles and fully engage them in the delivery of H&S performance and activities.
•Coach and actively support and advise asset personnel including line management and Safety Reps. in complying with company H&S policy and management system, group standards and UK legislation.
•Support and assist in the delivery of input into the H&S improvement and assurance plans at Terminal level.
•Assist & assure on appropriate incident investigation, analysis and learning associated with H&S related events.
•Support the implementation & role out of any HS relevant continuous improvement activities across area operations.
•Deliver assurance on behalf of SOR in respect of task checklists & other Self Verification Plan activities outlined.
•Implement CI improvement awareness program for Supervisors & everyone.
•Assist in the delivery & assurance of suitable and sufficient risk assessment as required by legislation, including the development and implementation of a common control of work system.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Hold, or be working towards, a nationally recognised HSE technical qualification.
• Strong HSE background with experience in dealing with landbased process plant operations.
• Strong understanding of HSE national legislation.
• Ability to deliver high levels of HSE performance against demanding targets.
• Ability to lead people including those out with own team and within the contracting populations.
• Demonstrate ability to work under own initiative with minimal supervision and within both the SOR and Site based operational teams.
• Basic business awareness and knowledge of potential impact of actions both legally and financially.
• Ability and competence to deliver a HSE generalists role, having some expertise in either Health/Hygiene, Safety, or Environmental disciplines.
• Accident Investigation and Root Cause Specialst, including human factors analysis
• Member of a a nationally recognised H,S or E body.
