The Company:
Our Client appears in the FTSE 100 index and is an international energy services company specializing in Oil and Gas and has annual revenues of over £2.6 billion. They believe that it is the people that drive their success, from Project Managers, Project Engineers, consultants to designers and commercial personnel. They work globally employing over 20,000 people on major operations including the UK.

The Role:
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
• Ownership of the HSE plan; monitoring and reporting of progress/compliance.
• Record monitor and review all accidents and STOP incidents, identifying causes and putting preventative measures in place.
• To provide advice and expertise to management across the range of activities and promote awareness of HSE issues by developing training initiatives to all levels of employees.
• Ensure subcontractors meet Company standards through organised subcontractor audits and review of Company procedures; conduct HSE assessments.
• Carry out investigations into all HSE reportable accidents and serious incidents. Work with Management to implement corrective actions.
• Carry out risk, manual handling and COSHH assessments, monitoring and reviewing in order to eliminate or control the risk being undertaken.
• Ensure all relevant employees sign that they’ve read and understood assessments that have been created.
• Ensure that statutory inspections of the whole unit are undertaken and findings reported.
• When required, liaise with external organisations who may assist and help in improving HSE practises.
• Provide assistance to the management team when introducing and enforcing site HSE procedures.
• Support and chair HSE meetings as required.
• Carry out control of contractor documentation and briefings to ensure the safety of the contractor and our employees.
• Supervision of contractors when on site.
• Identify source and provide PPE that helps protect employees during process execution.
• Responsibility for First aid kits, organising training and PAT test requirements.
• Issue permits to work when required.
• Assist and conduct Toolbox talks to all personnel, creating new Toolbox talks when required.
• Review manage and monitor all aspects that could affect the Environment including waste segregation and disposal.
• Safety induction training.
• Participate in periodic HSE site audits and monitor audit finding closures.
• Support implementation of Company HSE initiatives.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Health and Safety qualification desirable (NEBOSH/COSSH.)
• Proven track record of delivering HSE objectives within a small/medium organisation.
• Previous and relevant experience in a similar role.
• ISO understanding/working with ISO standards 9000/2000/14000/18000.
• Good interpersonal/communication skills.
• Good communication skills (written/oral).
• Fully competent in word/excel and Powepoint.
• Ability to accept direction and work in a team and/or independently.
• Ability to participate and lead incident investigations.
• Ability to elevate HSE issues and concerns to Management.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and/or projects with minimal supervision.
• Ability to deliver on tasks with a sense of urgency.
• Ability to learn and utilise new HSE tools and regulations on a regular basis.
