The Company:
The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

The Role:
HSE Advisor required for an 8 week assignment on a construction site in Central London.

- A member of the QHSE Department, the role will focus on ensuring that the highest standards of health, safety quality and environmental performance are achieved, monitored & maintained

Main Accountabilities
- Provide QHSE support to the tendering department during tender phase of potential projects
- Provide QHSE support to Project delivery teams through development / design phases of projects.
- Develop and review, construction phase HSE plans and quality assurance plans.
- Actively promote a positive HSE culture with tendering teams, project delivery teams, Clients representatives, Suppliers staff and other stakeholders.
- Support (as required) Site managers / site management teams to rigorously review Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS) to ensure an appropriate and effective safe system of work is implemented.
- Carry out compliance monitoring through site walks, spot checks, formal inspections and audits to ensure construction site activities comply with UK HSE Legislation, Client QHSE policies & processes, site rules and RAMS including verification of close out actions.
- Analysis of QHSE data and development of action plans to address issues identified.
- Conduct post incident investigations down to root cause level and produce thorough written reports.
- Input to the development and continuous improvement of client QHSE systems
- Provide input to tendering teams through capture team process, tender site visits, review of tender documentation etc.
- Provide QSHE input to project delivery teams through day to day involvement with delivery team members, development and design reviews, project reviews etc
- Ensure that key project QSHE documentation e.g. Construction phase SHE plan, Quality Plan etc is regularly reviewed and updated to reflect project status
- Actively promote a positive SHE culture: lead by example, coach and promote SHE awareness to staff at all levels, encourage open reporting and adoption of safe behaviours.
- Working collaboratively with site teams set & establish and maintain a high standard RAMS quality that combines compliant and practicable approaches to work activities
- Work collaboratively with site teams to ensure non compliance is rectified quickly and in a practical manner
- Proactively analyse own site data & event database to identify key issues and utilise proactively to address identified issues through appropriate means e.g. daily briefs, toolbox talks etc.
- Ensure post incident investigations are thorough and the corrective actions identified are fed back quickly to the Lead QHSE Practitioner for wider dissemination where applicable.
- Through day to day involvement with QSHE processes ensure that opportunities for improvement are fed back

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- QHSE professional with construction project experience.
- Nationally recognized QHSE qualifications e.g. NEBOSH Construction Certificate, IOSH Managing the Environment
- Strong collaboration & team working skills
- Good communication skills with ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the workforce
- Computer literate & proficient IT skills
- Member of a relevant professional body

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
HV power systems experience
Experience of working in the area of renewables
Rail systems experience ( eg, classic rail, High speed rail, London Underground etc.,)
Sub Station experience
