The Company:
Our Client is a global Energy Leader with a strong commitment to Honest and Ethical Business Practices within the Oil and Gas Industry. Our Client operates as an independent energy company. It has four segments: Oil and Gas, Syncrude, Energy Marketing, and Chemicals. The Oil and Gas segment explores, develops, and produces crude oil, natural gas, and related products.

The Role:
The EHS Advisor will have expertise in Environmental, Safety and Health Management and good working knowledge of environmental, health and safety issues. They will work as part of an onshore based EHS team, currently embedded within the Asset or Drilling and Completion team, reporting to the Health & Safety Manager (Operations).
Safety - Role-models compliance with HSE policy . Ensures that all activities are planned and conducted in compliance with HSE policy

Leadership - Manages the team to produce results through effective supervision, coaching and allocation of work. Communicates effectively and consistently role models Nexen’s values. Readily accepts accountability and insists on it from others

Financial - Manages the team in order to deliver budgeted outputs and costs. Effectively manages resources within their control, minimises waste, and risk, and raises potential budgetary issues as soon as they are identified.

Technical/Functional –
Coordinate Safety Case Updates, Materials Changes and Thorough Reviews.
Liaise with the Regulators (HSE-OSD and DECC) as appropriate.
Act as focal point for EHS advice and information dissemination for the Asset or D&C Team.
Provide support/guidance to the Offshore Asset EHS Focal Point/ Drilling & Completions Safety Coach.
Attend (onshore) asset/ rig daily calls, weekly/monthly HSE&A meetings, campaign meetings, wash-up meetings, pre-spud meetings etc.
Provide operational EHS support for the Environmental and Safety Engineering groups and support to the wider HSE&A team within the Company.
Engaging with offshore/ onshore personnel and key contractors on improving EHS performance; coordinate and update the asset/ department annual HSE&A Improvement Plan.
Provide support and participate where required: in developing, and roll-out EHS campaigns; Risk Assessment/ Hazid/ Envid sessions; Accident/ Incident Investigation and follow-up on Actions.
Conduct inspections and UK Management System compliance audits of offshore installations, vessels and onshore locations, and compile reports as appropriate.
Management System Development, Interface Arrangements and Emergency Response participation.
Coordination of preparation, review, submission and tracking of asset, drilling and intervention related environmental permits and consents (e.g. PONs, OPPC, OPEP).
Compilation, submission and compliance tracking of EEMS reporting requirements.
Tracking and reporting Asset/ Wells department environmental performance against objectives/ targets.
