The Role:
Reporting to the General Manager Operations will be responsible for managing a team of HSE professionals and will provide support to Operations in both Tengiz and Atyrau. He/she will be responsible to ensure that all relevant Legislative, Company, and Client issues pertaining to Employee Occupational Health, Safety & Wellbeing, Food Quality & Safety, HACCP and Environmental Management laws are integrated into the operational practices of the business through the implementation of a dynamic, effective HSEQ management systems, thus enabling effective risk management, monitoring and continual improvement in HSEQ performance.

He or she will also be responsible for the key client relationships and ensuring safe operations, while generating and implementing strategies to improve service levels and improve efficiency throughout the organization.

• Ensure that all the company’s HSE requirements as detailed in the Health, Safety & Environmental Management System (IMS) are implemented and maintained in all existing and new sites.
• Comply with legal requirements of the Company and Client HSE Policies, Rules and Regulations and any other HSE initiatives taken by the Company to provide safe and healthy work environment
• Ensure company awareness and monitor compliance to all applicable statutory requirements where reasonably practicable.
• Management of external HSEQ auditors
• Review all internal, external audit reports to ensure that the Company standard is being correctly and effectively measured.
• Assist the General Manager in preparing for Management Review Meetings and follow on improvement areas
• Report monthly and quarterly on results achieved HSEQ perspectives
• Monitor and report on all major non-conformance and follow up the same for effective closure
• Undertake planned routine HSEQ, HACCP and/or IMS audits and inspections to ensure on-going awareness of need to minimize risks.
• Conduct investigations of incidents , when they occur, and report root causes, preventive measures and lessons learned
• Collect and compile all injuries and incidents data on monthly basis and conduct trend analysis for needful corrective and preventive measures
• Deal with product /situation non-conformances / quality complaints as and when they arise, via procurement supervisor.
• Support the development and maintenance of HSEQ procedures and work instructions as and when required.
• Encourage that the Compass vision and values are lived throughout all aspects of duties performed to encourage cross-functional teamwork, collaboration and continual improvement.
• Develop and update training material and information for HSEQ& HACCP, and risk management.
• Undertake HSE training at all levels
• Ensure that all high risk contracts are flagged to the GM/Operations/Project Managers and line management and provide recommendations for improvement
• Intervene / help with corrective action implementation as required.
• Monitor compliance to HSEQ and HACCP requirements, update all information material and ensure that all updates are effectively communicated to all operating divisions

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum of 6 years as a HSEQ Country Manager in full service large organization.
• Degree or diploma in related fields of HSE, Environmental Studies, Food Science & Public Health from a recognized institute.
• Experience and knowledge of ISO 9001:2008, OSHAS 18001, HACCP and ISO 14001 standards.
• Strong leadership, management, coaching and organizational skills
• Excellent oral, written, cross functional and interpersonal communication skills that are appropriate for various levels, including management staff, clients and contractors
• Good project planning and execution skills, including the ability make mid-course corrections
• Computer knowledge, including work processing, spread sheets and databases
• Experience in an safety management systems
• Solid understanding of business fundamentals related to negotiation and financial management
• Leadership skills/management training
• Able to work in an unstructured environment and independently
