The Role:
Background

HSE Coordinator for Drilling Project

Purpose is to provide overall HSE coordination for a drilling campaign offshore the Eastern Canary Islands, comprising two or three exploration wells, to be drilled by a drillship.
Function: to ensure effective HSE risk management through application of Company HSE MS and procedures, and industry best practices
This position will report to the Drilling Manager and will be based in the Canary Is.
The duration will be approximately one year starting January 2014 or earlier if available.



Scope of work

• Finalize the Project HSE Plan
• Ensure full compliance with Spanish “Ley de Prevención de Riesgos Laborales”, including coordination between participating contractors.
• Coordinate execution of the required specific hazard assessments for the operations
• Finalization and revision of bridging documents, and HSE safety management systems and procedures
• Finalize the Project emergency plans, including their interface with external plans and those of the Spain Business Unit
• Ensure all stipulated environmental monitoring activities are carried out

• HSE Supervision of logistics base for offshore operations (lifting, road transport, bulk and fluids transferring and containment)
• HSE supervision of crew change by helicopter
• Coordination of HSE supervisors onboard
• Liaison with Drilling contractor HSE coordinator
• Liaison with Spain BU HSE department and EAA RU HSE department
• Fulfil the preassigned role within the emergency plans
• Prepare all HSE closeout reports, both internal and for the Authorities, and assist with closeout of HSE related contractual matters.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Job requirements

• Dedicated HSE professional, with relevant University degree and additional HSE qualifications. Current BOSIET Course
• Ample relevant experience in similar job.
• Totally operational focus and operational experience
• English and Spanish speaking
• Knowledge of Spain HSE regulations
• Experience in all tasks detailed in the SoW below
• Able to work in Spain immediately without need for ask for visa or work permit
