The Company:
A Major international oil and gas operator seeks HSE consultants to join their team working in the field in South East Texas. All positions are working a 14/14 rotation.

The Role:
Position Overview:
•The duration of the assignment is forecasted to be long term.
•The rotation schedule would be 14 on 14 off.
•Hours expected to work are a 12 hour day, but would be expected to work when ever needed and some days may need them to work longer hours. (For example if the Drilling & Completions HSE Specialist's are running casing in the middle of the night, they would be up while they are running casing and rest during a time of the day when the operations were less safety sensitive.)

The entire time is spent in the field, except for training and meetings when they would be called to the office or an offsite location.
The HSE Specialist's will be provided a per diem.

Knowledge Management:
•Monitor BBS observations, near miss reports, rig inspections and audit findings and incident root cause analysis to identify system gaps. Works with rig supervisors to develop action plans.
•Confirms appropriate personnel certifications are current (i.e., Well Control, Crane Operator, Fork Lift Operator, H2S, rigging, etc.)
•Confirms other training requirements (fire watch, man riding, etc)

Other Responsibilities:
•Receives day-to-day work direction from Drilling anf Completion supervisors
•Generates Daily Activity Report (HES Daily Report)
•Support Incident Investigation and RCA as required.
oIncident Documentation – Assist the supervisors with gathering of post-incident information. Provide guidance to the supervisors for all notifications and reporting requirements.
•Provide written handover notes for relief (copy to HES Field Manager, D&C HES Team Lead, consulting company HES Manager).
Contracted Site HES Support – Documented Minimum Expectations:

These activities should take place at a more frequent basis, but at a minimum, the following are to be documented and submitted along with Daily Activity Reports.
Once per Day -
•Participate in a job planning meeting (TGSM / JSA Review) and coach the meeting leaders (DSM, Toolpusher, Driller) who facilitates the meeting on improvements to make the job planning meeting and personnel participation more effective
•Conduct one formal Leadership Safety Engagement (LSE) and document the engagement on the engagement form and distribute copies of the engagement as indicated on the form.
•Complete Daily Activity Report and submit. Provide sufficient detail to summarize work activities, areas of influence, identification and mitigation of hazards, coaching/mentoring activities, and positive reinforcement of proper behaviors.

Twice per Week -
•Observe a job being performed and evaluate the effectiveness of the pre-job planning meeting by observing the work. Facilitate a post-job review meeting to discuss any gaps in the pre-job planning (JSA, TGSM) and recommend improvements to address these gaps.

Once per Week –
•Conduct or lead a drilling rig or completion site inspection / hazard hunt to identify hazards and ineffective hazard control measures. Follow-up with the supervisor / PIC to ensure findings are addressed and corrected.

Once per Hitch –
Provide written handover notes for relief (copy to HES Field Manager, D&C HES Team Lead, Contractor HES Manager).

•Coordinates and/or participates in HES&Q Management System Audits.
•Coordinates and/or participates in area inspections and audits.
•Coordinate and/or participate in Hazard Hunts.
•Monitors and tracks open action items to closure.
•Environmental requirements and documentation for your area.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
5+ years in oil and gas safety
Recent, relevant onshore safety experience in the field
Drilling and Completions HSE Experience
Shale/ US onshore Land drilling+ completions experience
