The Company:
Our Client is a major operating company, currently involved in some of the largest energy projects in the world. They are seeking an HSE Inspector to work on site in Qatar in an operational role. This is resident status with camp accommodation and transport provided, with 13 days leave after 38 days in country. Flights: 6 economy class flights per year (1 flight per rotation)

The Role:
Purpose:
The position is responsible for the implementation of the standards and controls already developed within the HSE Control Framework for the PROJECT. Key to standards and controls implementation will be a strong presence in the field, with the ability, tenacity and drive to enable compliance, intervene as appropriate and communicate these requirements to a multi cultural workforce.
The position is required to further pursue the Goal Zero goal of an Incident and Injury free work site and supportive mindset.

Accountabilities:
Accountable to the Senior Asset HSSE Advisor, must be able to demonstrate competence (knowledge, understanding and skill) in the key HSSE controls required to enable a Goal Zero; Incident and Injury Free worksite. This will include, but is not restricted to:
•Permit to Work
•Worksite Hazard identification, assessment and control intervention
•Discipline skills in Mechanical Engineering and a working knowledge of ‘hot work’ trade skills
•Incident Management – including carrying basic incident investigations
•Inspection / surveillance techniques (equivalent of STOP / Unsafe Act auditing)
•The ability to report on findings both verbally and written in a constructive and informative manner to a variety of stakeholders (HSSE Advisors/ Managers, Area Asset organization, Contractor Partners) is highly desirable.
•Must be able to work with independence and as a team player as situations dictate.

Dimensions:
A member of the HSE Inspection Team, The incumbent will be involved in all areas of Site operations including project and turnarounds. This team is key in the assurance of compliance to HSE Standards already defined for Project.
A strong field presence (approximately 60-70% of the working day) is necessary.
Ability to communicate findings and propose solutions to worksite issues to all levels of the workforce.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience and Qualifications required:
A minimum of 10 years experience in Refineries, LNG, Oil & Gas production, Petro-Chemical plants.
A relevant trade qualification.
Experience and practice of HSE Safe systems of work.
Mastery and understanding in trade skills and of sound working practices in the Mechanical discipline area.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience in supervision is desirable. Must be able to demonstrate supervisory skills, such as:
•Planning and organizing own work to align to team objectives and goals,
•Ability to influence,
•Good verbal and written communication skills,
•Calmness under pressure,
•Ability to focus on team priorities, etc.
