The Company:
An operator with drilling and construction projects in Algeria

The Role:
This position oversees the HSE activities within field operations. It provides HSE guidance to the various disciplines serving field operations and direction to the HSE staff. This position is the HSE interface between field operations and Joint Venture Corporate office.

Required Experience:
• 10 years HSE or related experience with 5 years in Projects or Operations
• Ability to work in a culturally diverse, remote and challenging environment.
• Demonstrated interpersonal / teambuilding skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• English (French and Arabic language skills are advantages)
• Demonstrated experienced with Safe Systems of Work & Work Permits
• Demonstrated working knowledge of P&IDs
• Demonstrated experience with Incident Investigation & Reporting

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide HSE support to field management and operations.
• Assure incidents are reported and appropriately investigated.
• Ensure that the HSE strategy is followed and is applied at the field level.
• Work directly with the field managers and interface with contractors’ management and their supervisors to champion, communicate and coach on HSE processes for the operation.
• Initiate, conduct and follow-up HSE audits of compliance to HSE Programs and Procedures.
• Participate in HSE auditing to evaluate Contractor HSE compliance and performance.
• Assure appropriate HSE related training is provided to field personnel, which includes Contract personnel.
• Provide guidance and direction to HSE Staff.
• Identify training needs for HSE staff and liaise with RHU for the execution of their training programs.

• Participate in various daily / weekly / monthly HSE, management and planning meetings with the field management and Contractors.
• Arrange and conduct emergency response planning and exercises to ensure the preparedness of field personnel and emergency response procedures.
• Assure specific HSE plans are maintained.
• Assist the field managers in resolving HS&E concerns.
• Provide HS&E information / engineering expertise to field management.
• Collaborate with operations to ensure that Algerian regulations and reporting requirements are met. Contribute proposals to correct any deficiencies. Report as required to Corporate Office.
• Maintain good working relationships with the Algerian authorities such as DMI, Wilaya, ARH and ENACT on behalf of field operations.
• Regularly review the adequacy of safety systems & procedures.
• Prepares HSE budget.
• Collaborate regularly with other HSE field managers to ensure that policies and procedures are implemented consistently.
• Report HSE performance as required to the Corporate HSE (incident reporting, metrics reports, report preparation).
• Report incidents to Corporate HSE in a timely manner and investigated to the Corporate HSE standard.
• Work with Corporate HSE Staff to assure compliance with HSE programs.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science Degree
• Eligible to receive Algerian work Permit
