The Company:
Our client, a worldwide oil and gas operator is looking for a highly qualified HSE Manager for their corporate office in Jakarta.

The Role:
Due to a massive growth in operations a position exists within the corporate HSE function. As a result the client is looking for a highly experienced and world travelled HSE Manager to support, mentor and improve the HSE group as a whole. The suitable candidate will have substantial management experience, ideally with international experience and having managed National staff previously, knowledge of industry best practice and proven skills in planning and successfully implementing these practices, to help our drive for change and HSE excellence. This is a residential based in Jakarta.

Some of your key responsibilities will be to
• Actively drive an increased focus on HSES performance and issues across the Indonesian BU via regular meetings/ conference calls with/presentations to Indonesia BU staff, Regional and Group HSES management
• Assist the HSE manager in developing annual and long term HSE plans/strategy
• Actively promote and review HSE policies, procedures and management systems within the Indonesian organisation, seeking improvement of such systems locally in moving towards a “best practice” environment
• Help to build a cohesive and motivated HSES group within the Indonesian BU, mentoring and developing staff in a culturally sensitive manner. Assist the national HSE Manager in assessing, motivating and developing incumbent staff (including the HSE Manager)
• Act as a trusted HSE advisor to the Country Manager, national HSE Manager and other department managers, remaining current with global HSE&S developments
• Establish a framework for regional HSES competence development within the Indonesia BU, recommending training and development activities for departments. Support the National HSE Manager in acting as Technical Authority for HSES within Indonesia

• Minimum 25 years’ relevant experience within upstream oil and gas
• Possess an outstanding track record in health safety and environmental management, considerable international exposure and
• Previous exposure of FPSO or FSO production operations would be a distinct advantage
• Experience within the South East Asia region is highly regarded

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Preference is for a tertiary degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Sciences or another relevant discipline.
• Diplomas in a relevant discipline can be acceptable when accompanied by an IOSH Diploma, however a British Safety Council Diploma or IOSH Certificate may be acceptable depending on experience
