The Company:
Our Client is an international oil & gas operator focusing on projects in the Middle East and Africa. Due to recent expansion, they are currently seeking to hire an HSE Manager

The Role:
Advising the company BU General Manager on HSE related issues and promoting an ever improving HSE Culture in BU
Develop HSE long term and annual strategic plans
Establish and maintain HSE culture in Kurdistan focused on safe and responsible operations.
Develop an HSE organisational capability towards achievement of strategy working alongside GM and BU leadership team.
Senior advisor /coach to GM and Management Team on HSE matters, notably HSE risk
Develop, implement and sustain the local HSE MS in compliance with the Corporate HSE MS and Standards as well as Kurdistani legislative requirements.
Act as investigation expert advisor to senior management for investigations of serious incidents (material loss of hydrocarbon from process, LTI’s and more severe) through robust investigations, understanding of system causes and development of recommendations to avoid recurrence.
Ensure accurate reporting of HSE performance to management through implementation of the corporate HSE Reporting Practice.
Ensure a program of regular audits of sites as well as offices and property to ensure compliance with local and Corporate systems and ensure follow up and timely closure of actions.
Develop and implement robust crisis management response capability and plans for Kurdistan BU at level 1 and 2 from a list of credible event scenarios and ensure readiness through regular drills and lessons learned.
Develop and manage budget for provision of all above activities with strict adherence to the Group financial and procurement rules.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Graduate of technically relevant subject
Minimum 20 years experience in the oil and gas/petrochemical industry with an HSE focus
Minimum 10 years in a senior HSE Management role
Has to have experience in operations with preference given to persons who have held leadership positions in an operating asset such as OIM/operations team leader.
