The Company:
Our major oil and gas client is seeking a Seismic HSE Coordinator for a long term opportunity in the state of Maranhão in Brazil.

The Role:
Responsibilities:
• Monitor daily operations, particularly high risk activities to ensure compliance of company and seismic contractor HSE policies and systems. Identify and report all deficiencies.
• Conduct HSE audits of company, contractor and Service Provider’s safety management.
• Monitor quality and effectiveness of contractor safety tools such as PTW, Risk Assessment and Safety Observation processes. Provide guidance for improvement areas.
• Lead and or participate in all Incident Investigations and ensure documentation and reporting requirements are met. Track all related actions and ensure key messages are delivered.
• Promote and build the safety culture in the field through daily intervention of unsafe work and reinforcement of safe behaviour.
• Coordinate review of applicable internal / external incidents and safety alerts. Disseminate the lessons learned to the work groups and record related actions.
• Collate all HSE related data and report to management.
• Provide HSE training when required; may include but not limited to Rules of Safety, HSE Awareness, drilling operations, explosives handling, line clearing and journey management. Ensure training trackers are updated.
• Develop HSE skills and competencies of Brazilian National HSEA trainees.
• Review contractor’s and subcontractor’s personnel competency and training records and identify related gaps.
• Participate in the daily Operational and weekly safety meetings.
• Coordinate the recognition award system for the safety observation process.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Requirements:
• Proven HSE experience in onshore seismic operations with the use of explosives.
• Experience and training abilities in HSE.
• Experienced in conducting and or leading an Incident Investigation.
• Experience with auditing of safety management systems.
• Strong HSE leadership skills with ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Good working knowledge of onshore environmental and Waste disposal practices.
• Applicants to provide current CV and 3 written job references
• Be able to work a 28/28 rotation in a land seismic crew
• Have current Fit to Work medical examination
• Have basic computer skills in Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook
• Versed in speaking, reading and writing English language
• Ability to read and communicate in Portuguese
