The Role:
Role Intent
- Deployed on a specific Project as a competent site based HSE Advisor.
- Actively engaged in day to day support of site activities and activity planning with an independent perspective on risks and the strength of the layers of protection (80% site based).
- Has a key accountability for ensuring HSE self verification is carried out in proportion to the work activity and number of personnel onsite at any given period.
- Focus and priority in tasks that assure the implementation of Regulatory and the Clients requirements.
- Provide coaching/verification that project HSE systems and processes are understood, implemented and sustained.
- Promote HSE culture by facilitating site safety meetings, health, safety and environmental campaigns, and lessons learned sharing.

Role Core Responsibilities/Requirements
- Identify hazards, including personal safety, health, and process safety and participate in the development of risk reduction measures to manage the risk.
- Effectively liaise with all Project personnel including the HSE network, 3rd party contractors and coach/support as required in front line HSE delivery.
- Provide site-based HSE self verification on high risk jobs and contractor/s working on the project.
- Support the Project HSSE Lead in HSE planning, which may include as an example delivery of Project inductions.
- Participate in required incident investigations as identified by the Project Management Team.
- Participate in required level 2 risk assessments and assure CoW conformance throughout the duration of the Project.
- Support emergency response program assurance. Facilitate site emergency response exercises with the emergency response team to test effectiveness of emergency response plans and methods of rescue.
- Actively participate in the delivery of daily project HSE self verification to ensure compliance with site specific, project and regional procedural requirements. This should be carried out daily and may include but should not be limited to WCC, ICC, Safety Observation Conversations, Workplace Inspections, Safety Observation Reporting.
- Enusure all outputs from self verification activities are fed into the project HSE Admin in a timely fashion to ensure the weekly statistics acurately reflect what has been completed.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- General competence in health & safety and is skilled in the identification, assessment and monitoring of HSE hazards and layers of protection to prevent incidents.
- NEBOSH Certificate / similar equivalent qualification (Trainee level)
- NEBOSH Diploma / similar equivalent qualification (experienced)
- Experience with proven track record in H&S (Any less will be treated as a Trainee).
- Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
- Good team player who will be flexible in supporting the needs of the Project and Clients HSSE Lead / Senior HSE Advisor.
