The Company:
a major oil and gas operator

The Role:
• Performs tasks in a wide range of environmental, health and safety disciplines to achieve compliance with the organization's EH&S standards and with federal and state regulatory requirements.
• Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of programs, systems and procedures necessary to ensure the overall safety and health of employees and the community.
• Assists in monitoring and preventing chemical, physical and biological hazards and diseases that could be present in the work area.
• Works with others to investigate accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards or uncomfortable conditions in the work place.
• Participates in recommending improvements in processes, design, procedures, and operating equipment, to minimize the hazardous potential.
• Participates in employee training, emergency preparedness and quality assurance programs.
• Maintains a working knowledge of the technical aspects of various regulatory requirements and how they may impact the operating unit.
• Typically requires three to seven years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Works within established procedures with a moderate degree of supervision.
• Identifies the problem and all relevant issues in straightforward situations, assesses each using standard procedures, and makes sound decisions.
Scope
• Provide Safety guidance and coordination support for the Operator’s Platform Construction Project.
• This position reports to the HSE Director. Serve as a technical resource by providing guidance and assistance to ensure compliance HSE requirements.
• Identify HSE risks and offer mitigation strategies to the team.
• Assess field activities by conducting onsite audits and inspections to ensure HSE compliance.
• Support construction activities with Construction Management Group and contractors through active engagement in field activities.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Five or more years of Projects HSE experience
• 3+ years of experience in oil & gas HSE experience
Professional working experience in and understanding of construction safety regulations and their applicability to upstream oil and gas operations
• Promptly identify, surface, and facilitate resolution of conflicts between project stakeholder HSE (Note specific training requirements): Unescorted NSTC training and CPAI required training
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive relations with HSE, team members and internal business partners
• Organizational abilities, especially the ability to work many short and long term issues or projects concurrently
• Experience working with third-party contractors to safely achieve business goals
• Exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
